ZESCO Chairman and Director Mbita Chitala has retired after serving the power utility firm for five years.
Dr. Chitala says it was challenging duty to manage over 7 billion dollars assets on behalf of the Zambian people.
On a Facebook post, Dr. Chitala says he hopes that the examples that have been set will be followed by other patriots.
He says he available for any advice as the company still faces challenges such debt and unfair power purchase agreements.
Dr. Chitala who is also former finance deputy minister says he will continue to serve in academia among other areas.
