Center for Young Leaders in Africa (CYLA) Executive Director Jones Mulunga says the arrest of National Democratic Party (NDC) Leader Chishimba Kambwili may be purported to be persecution of opposition opponent.
Mr. Mulunga wonders why this matter of fraud came up now yet it happened in 2013 when Dr. Kambwili was still a senior government official.
He explains to Journalists that the sentencing of Dr. Kambwili to 12 months imprison entails that there are two laws in Zambia of where one governs the ruling party and its sympathizers while the other governs those opposing ruling party.
Mr. Mulunga says currently, institutions of governance are weak such that those in government cannot be prosecuted no matter the wrong they do.
